Carrefour, whose local franchise is held by Dubai-based conglomerate Majid Al Futtaim plans to open two more branches at the Coastal region after the City Mall branch in Nyali.
The retailer launched MAF (Majid Al Futtaim) application to enhance the online shopping experience for its Kenyan customers. The application is intended to provide Carrefour customers with a seamless shopping experience with a focus on convenience giving them the opportunity to quickly and conveniently purchase items through a digital platform.
“We expect the continued entry and expansion of local and international retailers to support the performance of the retail sector, however, the growing focus on e-commerce is expected to negatively impact the sector exacerbating the reduced demand for physical retail spaces in the wake of the pandemic,”Cytonn comments on the country’s retail sector.
